3. What is the working principle of UV curing machines?

The main principle behind the UV curing machine hinges on the photochemical reaction.

UV coatings contain photoinitiators. When exposed to ultraviolet light, the photoinitiators absorb UV energy. This absorption causes the photoinitiators to break down into highly reactive free radicals, which then initiate a polymerization reaction within the coating.

During polymerization, the individual molecules in the coating, known as monomers and oligomers, begin to link together, forming long-chain polymers that gradually build up a three-dimensional network structure. As a result, the liquid coating rapidly transforms into a solid, hard film. This entire process occurs almost instantaneously, typically within 3-5 seconds.
