The infrared drying oven applies far infrared rays to heat the paint on the board surface, leveling it more evenly or drying it. Meanwhile, the exhaust fans continuously remove moisture or VOCs from the paint.

Usually, we choose different types of IR lamps and lengths to match different drying requirements. For high-temperature heating over 100℃, it is necessary to add more insulation, high-temperature resistance conveyor, bearing, and wire, as well as accurate zone control, detection, and protection.

The infrared drying oven is mainly used for drying self-drying paint on various materials, including wood furniture, glass, metal sheets, ceramic, and fiber cement boards.

1. What are the main optional functions of the infrared drying oven?

Leveling: The leveling infrared drying oven adopts far-infrared light sources to heat the paint on the surface of the plates to a constant temperature of about 40℃ in the tunnel, promoting the paint to accelerate leveling after being heated in the leveling channel. The paint film becomes more uniform and fine and achieves the effects of defoaming and eliminating marks. Especially after the topcoat painting, it plays an important role in enhancing the expressiveness.

Preheating: In some cold regions or winter, preheating is required before base materials processing or coating to achieve the desired effect, so we have designed the preheating infrared drying oven to meet such needs.

Drying the special coating: The high-temperature infrared drying oven works well for dry special coatings at high temperatures. Gold-plated medium long wave infrared lamps, high-temperature bearings, and some special designs make the drying temperature easily reach over 180℃ while ensuring the safety of operators.
2. How long do I need for a infrared drying oven?

The length of an infrared drying oven can be designed flexibly depending on function requirements, coating properties, the power and wavelength of infrared radiation, the size of the plate it is meant to accommodate, etc.

Function requirements: The designed length of infrared drying ovens may vary to achieve different functions. For example, leveling usually requires a length of 8-24m while preheating needs 3-8m. The variability of drying special coatings will be greater.

Coating properties: Different paints have different drying conditions. For example, oil-based paint may dry relatively quickly, which means the length of the infrared drying oven is much shorter. Water-based paint may take longer, also depending on their thickness and water-holding capacity.

Power and wavelength of the infrared drying oven: Higher-power infrared drying ovens can provide more intense heat, which generally shortens the drying tunnel. Additionally, the wavelength of the infrared radiation also affects the drying efficiency. Different materials have different optimal absorption wavelengths for infrared, and when the oven's wavelength matches the material's absorption characteristics, the drying speed can be increased.
