The curtain coating machine is the most widely used equipment for coating flat products with thick paint layers.

One alloy aluminium knife head recycles the liquid paint supplied by the pump from the paint container to create a paint curtain, similar to a waterfall. Two belt conveyors accelerate and decelerate to assist flat boards pass through the paint curtain quickly, coating a thick and even paint layer on their top side.

The coating thickness of curtain coating machine is adjustable by knife head gap and conveyor speed, usually applied to PE, PU sealer, and UV topcoating to get the high gloss effect, suitable for wood, glass, fiber cement board, plate metals, PVC, ceramics, and marble, etc.

1. How to control the coating thickness with the curtain coating machine?

We have already adjusted the accuracy of the aluminum alloy knife head during production. There is a hand wheel near the knife head on the front of the machine. Adjust the gap of the knife head clockwise, and the thicker the coating will be. Adjust it counterclockwise, the thinner the coating will be.
2. What’s the difference between a split curtain coating machine and an integrated curtain coating machine?

In terms of design, the split curtain coating machine is composed of two conveyors and an independent curtain head. The integrated curtain coating machine is an integrated machine, in which the conveyor and curtain head are connected to one machine.

In terms of application, the split curtain coating machine can adapt to different production needs by adjusting individual components and is more suitable for industries that require frequent changes in coating materials or parameters. In addition, if there is a high requirement for coating uniformity, the performance of the split curtain coating machine is even better because the independent structure allows them to be unaffected by each other.

However, the integrated curtain coating machine also achieves similar goals with a lower cost, making it popular among manufacturers.
3. How to properly maintain the curtain coating machine？

When starting the curtain coating machine, the speed of the conveyor belt should be increased from low to high. Conversely, when stopping, the speed should be decreased from high to low. It is not allowed to start at high speed with a heavy load.

Please don't place debris on the conveyor belt. It is strictly prohibited to use a sharp blade to scrape off any unclean objects attached to the conveyor belt.

After daily work, use paint thinner or alcohol to clean all parts of the knife head and the recycling structure, ensuring that no paint remains.
